Personal Injury

Personal injury cases are generally accidents that could have been prevented and when individuals need representation the most. Even when liability is established, parties to a lawsuit often argue over the proper amount of damages. Some types of damages, like medical bills or lost wages, are relatively easy to calculate. But other kinds of damages, like pain and suffering or a person's expected future earnings are more difficult to put a dollar amount to. We will help you through the compensation process.

Workers’ compensation reimburses medical expenses and lost income for employees who are injured on the job. Injured workers who don’t consult an Attorney could make mistakes that will ultimately reduce the amount of compensation they receive. The Law Offices of John A. Wills, Probate & Estate Administration

A Will dictates how your assets will be passed to your beneficiaries, and it allows you to control how your assets are distributed upon your death because you select the executors or trustees. Without a Will, your assets will be distributed in accordance with Connecticut State intestacy laws, and not necessarily in accordance with your desires. The Law Offices of John A. Barbieri know about Wills, the proper execution of Wills, compliance with the law and assurance that the document will be accepted by the Probate Court and will draft a Will based on your specific needs (such as assets and family situations). Our Will package includes a Power of Attorney and a Living Will.

A Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney becomes very important upon incapacity, i.e. the loss of the ability to act alone or independently. A Power of Attorney designates an attorney-in-fact (agent) to act and to make financial decisions on your behalf, an agent you can legally assign the responsibility to handle financial transactions for you.

The Living Will

The Living Will is the instruction manual for your appointed Health Care Agent that sets forth your wishes for the treatment that you would or would not want at the time when you are incapacitated and cannot make the decisions on your own.
